Seeking Learning Assistants for Summer 24 Quarter Plus!

Learning Assistant for Cal Poly's Quarter Plus Program. Applications will be considered through March 15, 2024. If you apply and are selected you can use this opportunity to fulfill your Co-Curricular: Teaching/Mentoring requirement.

Are you a nature lover??? Opportunities with the Moro Coast Audubon Society!!

NEW! The Moro Coast Audubon Society is seeking a student assistant to help lead their Community Ed Class on Birds & Blooms of the Carrizo Plain in April. Click HERE for more information on what this will entail, and the compensation provided. The qualifications are also included. However, if you are someone who is passionate and enthusiastic, willing to learn, and has an interest in nature/environmental education, then please apply! If you are selected this can be used for either one of the honors co-curriculars, teaching/mentoring OR leadership.

The application form is due by Friday, March 15 @ 5pm.

 

NEW! The Moro Coast Audubon Society is seeking student volunteers to help with SLO Earth Day event at Laguna Lake April 20th from 11am to 4pm. They are looking for volunteers to help create an interpretive "exhibit" for people to understand how plastics affect birds and habitats both on the Central Coast and globally. If interested please email Dr. J, jjovanov@calpoly.edu. Depending on the extent of your involvement you can count this toward either one of the honors co-curriculars, teaching/mentoring OR leadership.

Planning your schedule for NEXT YEAR??

We have updated the Tentative Course Offerings link to reflect which Honors courses will be able to offer next year in AY 2024-25. Remember this can change as we add new courses so check back frequently.

Save the Date! Spring Graduate Celebration on June 5th!

Graduating Seniors we want to celebrate with you! Our Annual Graduation Celebration will be held on Wednesday June 5th, 5:00-7:00pm in the ATL on campus. Appetizers and beverages will be served. All graduating seniors (includes seniors graduating Winter24/Fall 24) and their family and friends are invited to attend! We will provide more details of the event in early Spring Quarter.

Our Peer Advisors are available in-person or on zoom to answer any questions you have about the Honors program (e.g., Honors requirements, balancing Honors & major requirements, Co-Curricular experiences, Track, etc). Learn more about Peer Advising.

CO-CURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES

See Module 2.8 of the Student Handbook for more information about Honors required Co-curricular experiences. Please see the Co-Curricular Experiences link under the Current Students tab for the steps to take to fulfill this requirement. We will post new opportunities that you can consider for fulfilling these requirements as they come up.

Leadership

The Honors Program is hiring paid Student Assistants to work part-time next year in the Honors Program office beginning Fall 2024. Rate of pay is $16.00 per hour. The positions are for one academic year with the possibility of renewal. You must be able to commit to all 3 quarters. Position description are in the application form. If interested, please complete the application below.  For full consideration, please submit your application by 11:59pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. We will conduct interviews with applicants starting March 15 through finals week. Honors student applicants must be "in good standing" with the Honors Program to be considered. If you have questions please email Dr. J, jjovanov@calpoly.edu. If you are selected you can use this to fulfill your Co-Curricular: Leadership requirement.

  • The Honors copier in Building 116 (Jesperson), Room 212. The copier is connected to computers for anyone who needs to print. The copier will be available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9am to 4pm. If you need it on Monday or Friday, please email Jenni, jeduval@calpoly.edu to set up a time.
  • Jenni's office is Building 116, Room 212 (with the copier!)
  • Dr. J's temporary office is Building 47, room 23F
