Apply Now to be an Honors Ambassador!

Boost your resume, build your network, and give back to the Honors community! We’re seeking 2 students from each College to serve as Honors Ambassadors to represent the University Honors Program and help both current and prospective students connect with people, resources, and opportunities.

2 core responsibilities:

Share your Cal Poly contact information on the Honors website with a photo and short blurb as a point of contact for students.
Be available to support the Honors Program at two events per semester (flexible), including, but not limited to, Open House, registration events, event set-up/tear-down, etc.

Why apply?

Looks great on a resume! Act as an official campus ambassador role with public-facing leadership.
Great way to give back! Create welcoming pathways for current and future Honors students.
Professional growth! Practice peer support and mentorship.

Research Opportunity

The Honors Program is continuing an effort to offer every semester the opportunity for students who want to "try on" research to apply to work with a faculty on a research project for 1 semester. Students who apply and are selected will register for 1 unit of HNRS 4400. This unit can be used as an Honors Elective. The time commitment for this 1 unit is 4 hours of various research responsibilities each week.

For Spring 2027. Dr. Dan Castilow from the Department of Ethic Studies is seeking applicants for the following project. Students from ANY major can apply!

Project description: Filmmaking as a Research Methodology

This research opportunity introduces students to the methods involved in using film as a methodology in humanities and social science research. Students will gain hands-on experience applying these methods as part of an ongoing research project in ethnic studies and the post-production of a documentary film. Some of the topics covered will include interviewing, sound engineering, digital editing, color grading, and social media marketing. Students should have some facility with social media and an understanding of the core concepts in ethnic studies.
