Stay tuned for our Winter Quarter Events Schedule!

Weekly events will be posted HERE!

Attention First Years!! Mandatory Check In!!

To ensure you have a plan and are making good progress toward your Honors Requirements, we are requiring all first years to meet with a Peer Advisor by the end of Spring quarter 2026. Before meeting with the Peer Advisor fill out the 4-Year Check List. You can indicate on the checklist when you plan to complete certain requirements and what you think you will do for your High Impact Practice requirement. Bring the form with you to your check in and have the Peer Advisor sign and collect the form. First years who do not complete a check by end of Spring 264 quarter will not receive priority registration in WN27.

Honors Global Leadership Opportunities

A defining hallmark of the Honors Program is its commitment to cultivating the leadership skills students need to thrive in their careers and beyond. Central to this growth is preparing students to lead and collaborate effectively in a global workforce. To this end, Honors has partnered with Cal Poly’s International Center and the Center for Service in Action to provide transformative leadership opportunities. Through these experiences, students develop the knowledge, agility, and vision to engage meaningfully and serve with purpose in an interconnected world. We encourage you consider taking advantage of one of these opportunities this year. Note: Participation in one of these opportunities will fulfill the Honors Track Requirement or Honors High Impact Practice (new semester requirement). Click HERE for a full description of the 4 opportunities listed below.

  • Honors & Cal Poly in London, Summer 2026 (Application due March 1st)
  • Honors & Cal Poly in Thailand, Summer 2026 (Application due March 1st)
  • Honors & Alternative Breaks
    • Spring Break: March 22 to 28, 2026: New Orleans
    • Summer Break: June 15 to 30, 2026, Cape Town, South Africa

Applications for the Alternative Breaks trips are due February 2 (New Orleans) and February 23 (South Africa). Honors will be announcing an opportunity to apply for Honors funding soon!

Need a Permission Number? Don't ask Dr. J!

If you have completed a Co-curricular or Track experience and are ready to take HNRC 200-02, HNRC 200-03 and/or HNRS 361 email honors@calpoly.edu for permission numbers. Same goes for HNRS 461! BUT remember that for HNRS 361 we must give priority to graduating seniors.

REMEMBER! We will not give you a permission number if you have not submitted your Track and/or Co-curricular form (see Handbook).

Two Seats Available in HNRS 261!

There are 2 seats open in HNRS 261. If you are in your 2nd or 3rd year and have not yet taken HNRS 261 or a substitute for it, don't delay!
