Attention First Years!! Mandatory Check In!

To ensure you have a plan and are making good progress toward your Honors Requirements, we are requiring all first years to meet with a Peer Advisor by the end of Spring quarter 2024. Before meeting with the Peer Advisor fill out the 4-Year Check List. You can indicate on the checklist when you plan to complete certain requirements and what you think you will do for your Track and Co-Curriculars. Bring the form with you to your check in and have the Peer Advisor sign and collect the form. First years who do not complete a check by end of Spring 24 quarter will not receive priority registration in WN25.

Do you have priority registration for Spring 2024?

Cal Poly provides Special Exception Registration Status (i.e. Priority Registration) to first- and second-year students who are members in good standing in the Honors Program. Students with Special Exception status may register first according to Cal Poly's registration appointment schedule. See module 2.12 of the Canvas Honors Handbook to learn more about the requirements to be in good standing to receive Special Exception status. If you do not meet the requirements you will not have special exception status for Spring!

First round registration for students with Special Exception starts if February 22!

Add Community Service to your Cal Poly Transcript!

Get credit for your community service participation put on your University Transcript! To get credit, you must complete a minimum of 150 hours over the course of your time at Cal Poly. Hours completed over the summer or other academic breaks still count towards these hours, as long as you get them signed off by as volunteer supervisor or Cal Poly faculty member.

The Cal Poly Honors Program wants to make this process as simple as possible for all of its students. The program will keep track of and sign off on all of your hours; just complete this attendance form when you volunteer. We also coordinate exciting volunteer events for Honors students throughout the year. See the list of our latest opportunities here!

The Honors Commons is Back!

Until our more permanent-temporary space becomes available, the University has assigned us the large conference room on the first floor of Jespersen Hall (bldg. 116; when you walk into the building turn left) to use as our Commons. There are lots of tables, chairs and whiteboards. It's the same building with Jenni's temporary office and the Honors printer. The room will be open M-F, 8am to 5pm.
