We have added a Quarters to Semesters link on the Honors website under Current Students. Here you can find how current requirements will translate to semesters. If you are a first time first year, I will go over in HNRS 100 how you will follow the new requirements. Rest assured we are going to make it easy to ensure everyone graduates on time! If you have questions, please reach out to a Honors Peer Advisor or email honors@calpoly.edu.

Boost your resume, build your network, and give back to the Honors community! We’re seeking Honors Ambassadors to represent the University Honors Program and help students connect with people, resources, and opportunities.

Introduce yourself in HNRS 100: Introduction to the Honors Community and be a visible point of contact for new students.

Be available in the Honors Commons during Spring Open House to talk with prospective students and families.

Share your Cal Poly contact information on the Honors website with a photo and short blurb so students can reach you.

Provide extra help as needed (peer mentoring support, scheduling logistics, event set-up).

Looks great on a resume! Act as an official campus ambassador role with public-facing leadership.

Great way to give back! Create welcoming pathways for current and future Honors students.

Need Help With Winter Registration?
Honors is hosting two registration events in the Commons:
Thursday October 23rd, 10:00am to 2:00pm. Stop by anytime to ask questions and get prepared for registration. Honors students will be there to answer questions about degree planning and schedule building.
Monday November 13th, 11am to 3pm. Priority registration starts Nov 13th. Stop by anytime to ask questions or get assistance with registration.
Do you have priority registration for Winter 2026?
Cal Poly provides Special Exception Registration Status (i.e. Priority Registration) to first- and second-year students who are members in good standing in the Honors Program. Students with Special Exception status may register first according to Cal Poly's registration appointment schedule. See module 2.12 of the Canvas Honors Handbook to learn more about the requirements to be in good standing to receive Special Exception status. First years, you will learn more about registration and your Honors Requirements in HNRS 100 this quarter.
Are you interested in a Health-Related Profession?
If you are thinking of pursuing a health-related career (e.g. medicine, nursing, occupational therapy) check out Cal Poly's Pre-Health Advising website. Click on the Careers tab for information about prereqs for specifc professional programs.
Do you want to change your major!
