If you have completed a Co-curricular or Track experience and are ready to take HNRC 200-02, HNRC 200-03 and/or HNRS 361 email honors@calpoly.edu for permission numbers. 

Thinking about how to fulfill your Honors Elective requirement?

We have updated Module 2.6 in the Honors Handbook to make clear the number of ways you can get units toward your required Honors Electives.

We have updated the Tentative Course Offerings link to reflect which Honors courses will be able to offer next year in AY 2024-25. Remember this can change as we add new courses so check back frequently.

Seeking Learning Assistants for HNRS 100 in Fall 2024!!

Dr. J is seeking Learning Assistants to help with HNRS100 in Fall. Any honors student, including current first years, can be a learning assistant! HNRS 100 will meet once per week on Wednesdays 4:10 to 6:00pm. To be a Learning Assistant you will have to leave this time open. Learning Assistants will help facilitate small group discussions during class and help small groups with a series of innovative projects. Students completing their learning assistant assignments receive credit toward their Honors Program requirements (co-curricular mentor requirement and one Honors Program Elective 1.0 unit). 

Being a Learning Assistant is a great way to support our Honors Community! 

If you are interested in serving as a Learning Assistant for HNRS complete the HNRS Learning Assistant Interest Form by May 22nd!

Seeking Learning Assistants for Honors Seminars and HNRS 261 in Fall!

We are seeking students who are interested in serving as Learning Assistants for our Honors Seminars in Fall 2024 as well as HNRS 261.  If you are interested please answer the questions below. Learning Assistant responsibilities will involve assisting a faculty instructor in their course. Responsibilities may include facilitating discussions, preparing course activities, and answering student questions. Learning Assistants will be required to attend the class at its scheduled time. Serving as Learning Assistant will fulfill the Honors Co-Curricular: Teaching/Mentoring requirement.

If you are interested in serving as a Learning Assistant for HNRS complete the HNRS Learning Assistant Interest Form FA24 by May 22nd!

Our Peer Advisors are available in-person or on zoom to answer any questions you have about the Honors program (e.g., Honors requirements, balancing Honors & major requirements, Co-Curricular experiences, Track, etc). Learn more about Peer Advising.

CO-CURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES

See Module 2.8 of the Student Handbook for more information about Honors required Co-curricular experiences. Please see the Co-Curricular Experiences link under the Current Students tab for the steps to take to fulfill this requirement. We will post new opportunities that you can consider for fulfilling these requirements as they come up.

NEW! We are seeking students who are interested in serving as Learning Assistants to other Honors courses in Fall 2024 quarter (i.e. HNRS 299 & 261). If you are interested please complete the Learning Assistant Interest Form by May 22nd. Learning Assistant responsibilities will involve assisting a faculty instructor in a particular HNRS course. Responsibilities may include facilitating discussions, preparing course activities, and answering student questions. Learning Assistants will be required to attend the class at its scheduled time.

If you are selected as a candidate, we will be in touch with you about your availability to be a Learning Assistant for a specific course. At the moment we are sorting out which HNRS courses will need Learning Assistants in Fall. If you are selected you can count this as your Teaching/Mentoring Co-Curricular experience!

  • The Honors copier in Building 116 (Jesperson), Room 212. The copier is connected to computers for anyone who needs to print. The copier will be available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9am to 4pm. If you need it on Monday or Friday, please email Jenni, jeduval@calpoly.edu to set up a time.
  • Jenni's office is Building 116, Room 212 (with the copier!)
  • Dr. J's temporary office is Building 47, room 23F
