Welcome to the Weekly Update!!

It's going to be a FABULOUS year!!

A special warm welcome to our incoming freshmen, new junior transfers AND our new group of continuing students who joined the program this summer.

What is the Honors Weekly Update? Every week we will post information you will want to know--upcoming Honors events, new course offerings, co-curricular opportunities, campus resources, job opportunities and more--so get in the habit of checking it every week.

You can find the Honors Weekly Update link on the Honors Website. Its a widget at the bottom of the Home page and also under Current Students link. Be sure to bookmark the website where you will find lots of helpful information.

Stop by the Honors Commons THIS Friday for Doughnuts and Apples!!

This Friday, September 23rd, we will have doughnuts and apples in the Honors Commons (Kennedy Library, room 510; elevators in the back of the library!). Stop by anytime between 9am to 4pm. There will be student assistants there to answer any questions you have about Honors.

For those of you who are new to Honors its a good way to come check out YOUR space. The Honors commons is a great space to study, work at the computers, print (for free!) or just hang out and relax.

The Honors Commons is open Monday thru Friday 9am to 5pm!

Seeking Students for our Honors Newsletter Committee!!

We are looking for a team of Honors Students to help produce our award-winning newsletter this year! This is a great opportunity to boost a resume or portfolio, network with other Honors students, and strengthen your skills. It is a 2–3 quarter commitment, and you can earn your Leadership co-curricular. All Honors students of any major are welcome, we will find a role that lends to your talents and interests! If you're interested, please fill out the Newsletter Committee Interest Form by Friday, September 23, and direct any questions to kitagaki@calpoly.edu.

If you have completed a Co-curricular or Track experience and are ready to take HNRC 200-02, HNRC 200-03 and/or HNRS 361 email honors@calpoly.edu for permission numbers.

Take an Honors Seminar!!

There are still seats available in the 3 Honors Seminars (HNRS 299) we are offering in Fall. Remember HNRS 299s can count toward your required Honors Electives. And HNRS 299 section 2 can be used to substitute for HNRS 261!

Need a permission number?

If you have completed a Co-curricular or Track experience and are ready to take HNRC 200-02, HNRC 200-03 and/or HNRS 361 email honors@calpoly.edu for permission numbers. REMEMBER we are only offering HNRS 361 in Fall22 & Winter23. HNRS 461 will be offered in WN23 & SP23.

Please see the Co-Curricular Experiences link under the Current Students tab for the steps to take to fulfill this requirement. We will post new opportunities that you can consider for fulfilling these requirements as they come up.
