Do you have priority registration for Winter 2025?
Cal Poly provides Special Exception Registration Status (i.e. Priority Registration) to first- and second-year students who are members in good standing in the Honors Program. Students with Special Exception status may register first according to Cal Poly's registration appointment schedule. See module 2.12 of the Canvas Honors Handbook to learn more about the requirements to be in good standing to receive Special Exception status. First years, you will learn more about registration and your Honors Requirements in HNRS 100 this quarter.

IMPORTANT! If you are planning to graduate in Fall 2025, please plan to take HNRS 461 in either WN25 or SP25!!! We do not offer HNRS 461 in Fall. And remember we only offer HNRS 361 in FA & WN.
Need Help With Winter Registration?
Honors is hosting two registration events:
Tuesday October 29th, 10:00am to 1:00pm (52-E46). Stop by anytime to ask questions and get prepared for registration. Honors students will be there to answer questions about degree planning and schedule building.
Tuesday November 5th, 10am to 2pm (TBA). Priority registration starts Nov 5th. Stop by anytime to ask questions or get assistance with registration.
Important Note About Honors Cross-Listed Courses!!
If you are planning to take an Honors GE this year use the Tentative Course Offerings link on the Honors website to see what Honors courses will be offered. Just because you see a course on your Degree Planner does NOT mean the course will be offered. The Tentative Course offerings list is the most up to date information on what will be offered. Although Honors officially has a lot of cross-listed GEs, many will not offered.
REMEMBER! The only way to get credit for an honors course is if you register under HNRS. Just because a course is cross-listed does NOT mean it is an honors section. Honors sections are only honors sections if you can enroll under HNRS. Otherwise it is NOT an honors section and you will not get honors credit for the course.
Honors Printing Perk!
Every quarter honors students can print for free up to 100 black & white copies and 50 colored copies. The Honors printer is in Building 52, Room E34. You can stop by between 8:30am to 4pm if you need to print. Or email Jenni to arrange a time.
Seeking a Food Pantry Garden Student Assistant!
The Honors Program is hiring a paid Student Assistant to support Cal Poly's Food Pantry Garden, specifically in the role of Educational Outreach Coordinator. The time commitment is up to 5 hours per week. The position is for this academic year. Responsibilities include:
- Propose ideas for educational events (workshops, planting sessions, food demonstrations) and obtain necessary approvals
- Plan, lead, and manage 1-2 events, including budgeting, making purchase lists, and organizing materials
- Design educational materials such as slides, handouts, and interactive elements for workshops
- Assist with establishing educational signage within the garden (QR codes or bed labels that provide plant information, sustainable practices, etc.)
- Collaborate with faculty or staff to bring in guest speakers or partner on educational initiatives Garden Operations Assistance:
- Support the maintenance of the garden beds
- Assist and exhibit good garden practices for volunteers
- Attend weekly meetings with Garden Manager
