Welcome to the Cal Poly Honors Program
The Honors Program is designed to provide highly motivated and successful students with
a broad and challenging learning experience through participation in a variety of curricular and
co-curricular activities. Honors students have the opportunity to enjoy a varied educational experience, including courses in specially designed Honors seminars as well as undergraduate research opportunities.

Intellectual creativity and exploration are the hallmarks of the Honors Program. In particular,
the Honors Program builds relationships between all colleges on campus and seeks to educate students in the connections between the disciplines, from Engineering to English, Agriculture to
Art, or Business to Biology. Following Cal Poly's distinctive "hands-on" approach to education, students will be encouraged to participate in community projects and international programs to enhance their global awareness.

Honors Research Program - Winter 2008

We are excited about initiation of a new group of undergraduate research projects for the Honors students. We are in the process of receiving research project proposals from faculty members across campus and plan to have 20 new undergraduate research projects for students to chose from starting in Winter 2008.

New Course Offering for Winter 2008

HNRS x491-70: Poly D-Lab: Appropriate Technology for Impoverished Communities: Development This course will introduce various notions of development and explore several technological innovations necessary to enhance the quality of life in impoverished communities.
