Community
The Honors Community consists of all the people and services that provide support for the Honors students on campus. The Program is not just about academics, it is about interacting with others to create an environment of social interaction, caring, and trust in addition to learning.
Honors Administration
The Honors Program Administration includes a full-time staff person and half-time faculty Director who oversee the daily operations of the Program as well as strategic planning for the future. Here at Cal Poly, the Program falls under the direct supervision of the Academic Programs Office, which, in turn, is overseen by the Office of the Provost.
There are also many other people on campus working behind the scenes to help Honors students succeed, including the Honors Council, an interdisciplinary group of faculty, staff and students who assist and advise the Director in the development of policies and Program strategies.
Honors House

As freshmen, the Honors students have the opportunity to live together in an on-campus housing community that fosters and supports studious pursuits and academic achievement. The Honors Community is located in the Cerro Vista Village apartments. This enviroment provides supports and fosters studious endeavors and academic achievement. Freshment students selecting the Honors Community need to be independent, and have the ability to live in an apartment setting.
The Honors Community seeks to provide a living, learning experience that enhances the overall academic experience at Cal Poly. The Honors Community is also a place where lasting friendships are made and there is always someone to lend a helping hand. A constant hub of activity, the Honors Community is a place to have fun, to learn, and to heighten the Cal Poly experience. Honors Student Board
Honors students also have the opportunity to broaden their social activities and leadership skills through participation in the Honors Student Board, a student-run organization that operates within the context of the campus-wide Cal Poly student government (ASI). The Honors Student Board organizes social events, community service projects, campus-wide presentations, and provides a liaison between the Program administration and the ever-growing body of Honors students. Students serving as Honors Student Board officers may also receive Honors credit if they fulfill the requirements of the Honors Leadership Experience course.
